When I exit scummvm I get the following error: WARNING: FSMode::createReadStream: ‘. I noticed that my settings in scummvm are not saved though (like games I added and save pads I changed). If games in the standalone list are not in the Libretro list it’s mostly because they either don’t run at all or with really bad performance/unplayable. I’m able to start scummvm form Emulationstation, by adding a start.exe in the scummvm rom folder. Only starts on standalone same problem with exit as Simon the Sorcerer Rex NebularĬopy protection needs keyboard (and game manual) only possible way is cracking the protection with online help and set save states which can be loaded after directly from the launcher Running games overview No solution so far on standalone, on Libretro maybe possible via remapping through retroarch config? Leather Goddesses of Phobos 2 Is problematic because on save/load/exit you always have to confirm with either Y or N (on actual keyboard) On standalone you have to connect a keyboard to skip the protection (Pi outside of GPi) and create save states (normal and light mode) so you can access them through the scummvm launcher later when in the GPi again. Libretro lets you input a keyboard “5” via R-button so it’s possible to skip the protection. Skip copy protection -> either Libretro or save state in standalone Standalone: 1 is fine, 2 is on the edge but performs well enough for a point&click for my taste, 2.5 not possible due performance Monkey Island 2 (only standard/original no talkie-version at this point) Libretro: all games not possible due bad performance LED flashes purple when change successful Broken Sword / Baphomets Fluch 1, 2, 2.5 Make dpad work in standalone with change of mode -> SELECT+LEFT / SELECT+UPĭepending on which mode should be applied -> prefered mode should be configured in emulationstation “Configure Inputs”
Some games like the Monkey Island series allow to open the SCUMMVM menu with the R-button. If you want to save/load/quit most of the time you have to use the ingame options. If you press start or select in-game it brings up the scummvm menu for saving. So it is best to leave the ID in standalone as the automatically generated one.
Scrapingįor scraping purposes it appears both variants work well because the shortname in Libretro = ID in standalone and with that info they can find matches. You can either start the game or quit the launcher now.Īfter quitting SCUMMVM will generate a new gamelist.xml which will be only be visible after a restart of emulationstation.Īfter the restart the added game(s) should appear in the gamelist and can be directly started. Start the SCUMMVM Launcher with the Script in the SCUMMVM section in emulationstation.Ĭhoose “Add Game” on the right and choose the folder of the game you want to add after the process it will generate a *.svm file in the scummvm folder with the ID of the just added game. The shortname.svm file must only contain the shortname again so for monkey island 2 there would be a monkey2.svm with monkey2 in it.įurther info and explanation regarding the installation in Libretro: Standalone: You have to put a SHORTNAME.svm in the folder of the game so it can be run by Libretro. Put your gamefolders in /home/pi/Retropie/roms/scummvm/ Thanks to: bebeidon Game installation Libretro:
